How to carve a foam tombstone with a laser

An easy way to produce authentic looking Halloween tombstones

Step 2

Design your tombstone using a graphics program on the computer. Go ahead and be creative, the laser can do just about anything.

Assign laser powers for various parts of the drawing, i.e. lower power for the letters, higher power to cut around the outside.

Step 4

In about 15-20 minutes, remove your completed tombstone, ready to finish painting

Step 1 is to buy a laser engraver. The cost? Around $35,000 (yes, that's a 35 with three zeros). Hey, I said an easy way to carve a tombstone, I didn't say it was cheap. Sorry if I got your hopes up.
